Side Step Dresser Tutorial

Ok, I decided I needed to get with the times and try a video tutorial so here's my first video for my side-step dresser card. I hope it works!

Here are the written instructions and list of supplies for the cards I made in the video.

Dresser Card Base:  5 ½” x 8 ½”. Cut down the centre (2 ¾”) starting at the 1” mark and stopping at 5 ¼”. Score @ 1” and 2” from one edge to the centre cut.

Drawers: Cut three ¾” x 2”

Front mat on baby cards 2” x 2 ½” on all other cards 2 ½” square. If you’re double matting make the second mat ¼” smaller.

Inside Sentiment mat: 2 ¼” x 4 ¼”

Side Step Dresser Card

  This was going to be one of my swap cards for convention but I had to simplify it a little when I started running out of time. Below is the version I ended up using. They were actually fairly simple to make.  My Dad did all of the punching for me and Mom and Aunt Helen made all of the bears.

Artisan Award Entries 2010

I forgot to take photos of a couple of my entries for the Artisan Award before I shipped them but I found them on display at convention so now I have the complete set. I’m looking forward to entering again next year. I didn’t win but I really enjoyed the challenge and it was pretty cool seeing my stuff on display.

Coloring Christmas

The SUDSOL stamp set challenge for this week is Thoughts and Prayers. The sentiment is from Jolliest Time of the Year. I did a little masking and sponging with Tempting Turquoise and used markers on the tree stamp. I added some dazzling diamonds with a two-way glue pen.

Below is a quick card stamped in Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder. I didn't put gold ep on the leaves. The color is the watermark I got from using a dirty versamark pad. 

Punch Art Moose

I've been playing with some of Stampin' Up's new punches. Here's one of the cards I made and the punches I used. Head: Owl punch, Body: large oval, Feet: small oval, Antlers: bat punch. The sign is from the new party this way stamp set. The gift is a scrap of cardstock approx. 1 1/2" x 2" with a bow made from the Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffeta ribbon. I tore a piece of certainly celery cardstock for the bush and covered it with some leaves from the two-step bird punch. The tree is cut free hand and embossed with the #4 texture plate. 

Owl Punch Tulip

I couldn't resist using some of my new toys to make a few extra swaps for convention. Here's a simple tulip using the new owl punch. I punched two of the owl bodies from Regal Rose and Certainly Celery, The Celery piece I trimed from the ears to the center bottom to make the leaves. I used the scallop border punch to cut off the top of the Regal Rose owl to make the tulip. The stem is just a sliver of card stock that I ran through the crimper.

Artisan Entry

This was one of my entries for the artisan award. I forgot to photograph my other 3D project before I packed it. This is a remake of the illuminated bird house ornaments I made at Christmas using the milk carton die.

Garden Elements

I was working on some swaps for convention using the Elements of Style stamp set. It was going well until the coloring and cutting started. I have such a difficult time keeping it simple. Oh well. I don't think I want to make 50 of these but I was happy with the way it turned out.
