Since I did the post on making your own envelopes I've been getting a lot of inquiries about how to seal them. Here are a few of options that I like to use.
If I'm hand delivering a card I like the recipient to be able to open the envelope without distroying it so I use a handmade semi-permanent glue dot.
To make these I save my wax sheets like the ones that mini glue dots or rhinestones and pearls come on. I put small dots of Tombow Multi Adhesive on the wax paper, let them dry at least overnight and they’re ready to use. They will hold the envelope shut but since the dry adhesive is semi permanent you can open your envelope and reseal it over and over again.
You can also apply Tombow multi adhesive or the two-way glue pen directly to the envelope and let it dry. Once the glue is dry it turns into a temporary adhesive as well. Just make sure the glue is completely dry before it touches anything or you'll have a permanent bond.
For envelopes that I’m not planning to seal right away I use narrow strips of Big Shot Adhesive. The adhesive comes in 12”x 12” sheets. I cut it into strips approximately 1/8” wide and use about 2”-4” of the strip along the edge of the flap. I leave the backing on the adhesive until I’m ready to seal the envelope. (Note: The adhesive backing you see pictured in the photo is the wrong side. The backing you'll be leaving on will be white but it didn't show up well in the photo)
Those are great practical ideas (now if I can only remember them....)

Jackie, these are great ideas & it got me to thinkin'...could the "glue dots with tombow mp glue" be placed right onto the envelope flap and left to dry (unsealed) overnight as well?

Jackie; I made a video quite a while back on how to make these "glue dots" using the SU! Tombow glue. Seeing you using that idea make me feel so happy! I'm glad my idea is helping others to "save some money" ;0)
