I'm so glad the Country Livin' stamp set carried over into the next catalogue. I've been using it a lot. This was one of the swap cards I made for OnStage in Toronto and I wished I'd made more. I had several different designs but ran out of this one first.
I hope everyone is having a lovely Easter. Ours couldn't be better; spent time with family, beautiful spring day and an Easter egg hunt even though our kids are 19 and 22. They were reminiscing about looking for eggs when they were young so I couldn't resist hiding some foil wrapped eggs. And just like old times I'll probably still be finding some at Christmas.
My kids also love the chocolate covered oreos from Marshville Chocolates so this year I made these little treat holders for them for Easter. It would also work with a tiny cello bag filled with your favorite treats.
Stampin' Up events are always so much fun and this one was no exception. The upcoming catalogue is a pretty good one. Lots of products that I really really want and can't wait to try. This Little Piggy stamp set was one of the sets we were given at OnStage. Of course the now retired SAB ribbon was perfect for it but there's a white ribbon trimmed in silver in the new catty that will work well too.
I used the watercolor pencils and an aqua painter to colour the image. The die cut flower and leaves are from the Swirly Scribbles dies and I added some clear Wink of Stella to give it some glitter.
This card is made from the negative of the rose cut-out. After I cut the rose from the gold foil paper I left the die cut in the framelit. Working with the blades of the framelit facing up I put a small amount of glue on each piece then laid my card stock mat on top of the rose. I flipped it over onto my sponge mat and used the roller to get the pieces out of the framelit. Most of the pieces stayed where they should but if one moved I had time to quickly adjust it before the glue dried.
The pieces looked nice without the embossing. It gave the rose a puffy look but since this card was for a swap I thought embossing would make it more sturdy for handling.
This is one of my swap cards for Onstage using the Rose Wonder stamp set and framlits. I got several cards from the parts and pieces. I cut the rose from Gold Foil paper and used the negatives on another card. Watch for it in my next post.
To make the background for this card I laid a piece of white card stock on top of a piece of black card stock and cut a rose out of the centre. I was able to use the white rose cut out on another card but the black one didn't cut all the way through even when I used a shim.
I glued the pieces to a Blushing Bride card base and placed a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock behind the leaves.
I haven't played with my watercolour pencils in a while. They work well with the Mediterranean Moments stamp set. For some of the areas that I wanted a little brighter I coloured on the watercolor paper after it was wet.
I'm missing these chicks already. Wouldn't it be great if this SAB set made it into the next catty. I stamped the bottom of the Cajun Craze mat with one of the stamps from Timeless Textures and used a couple of strips of washi tape.
