3-D Circle Ornaments

I was playing with my 3-D circle die to see what different configurations would look like. The ornament to the left is 20 circles. The top 5 and bottom 5 are turned in and the 10 centre circles are turned to the outside. I cut the ivory triangles out separately and attached them later. They're embossed with iridecsent ice but it doesn't show up in the photo.

The gold ornament is made up of 6 circles. I punched out a small oval and star and attached them to the centre flaps to hold the top and bottom of the ornament together. For the snow globe ornament I used 5 of each colour and attached them to acetate. 

Friendship

  My Mom bought me this set for my birthday. This is the first chance I've had to play with it. I used Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla. I punched holes is the Navy,attached it to the card with dimentionals and set the pearls in so they would look like they were strung on the silver.

Singing Reindeer

 When I saw the punch class on the SU website the reindeer tag reminded me of the wooden singing reindeer I used to make. The sizzlets swirl die is perfect for the antlers. I used 2 circle punches for the body and the small oval for the neck and mouth. He looks a little odd without his song book.

Sock Monkey Pillow Box

 I'm still trying to come up with an un-ugly way to close the pillow box. I punched a hole it the top oval and snipped up to the hole so I could close it around the top of the cello bag. It stays shut but I don't like how the flaps stick up so my search for the un-ugly continues.

Here's a tip. If you're making loads of these and don't want to spend a fortune on candy use the small SU cello bags inside. In my sample I filled the cello bag with one of those small packages of m&m's I stole from my kid's halloween bag (shhhh). I was surprised at how full it looked. Plus I didn't have to worry about securing a window sheet over the opening.

Holiday Collection Wreath

  I'm trying to get as much mileage as I can out of my Holiday Collection Kit. I stamped the snowflake in a circle using old olive craft ink then embossed with iridescent ice the same way I made my cardinal wreath card.

Christmas Frankie Boxes

I'm not sure who to credit for the Frankie Box. We made them as a make & take at last month's meeting. Anyway they are so quick and easy I wanted to make a Christmas version. To make the 3-D carrot nose on the snowman I punched a 1 3/4" circle, cut it in half and shaped it into a cone. Place a pop dot in the middle of the snowman's face and wrap the cone around the pop dot.

Snow Flake Projects

I've been playing with my big shot snowflake. If you attach two points of a snowflake to two points of another snowflake you can make all kinds of interesting things. To make the following projects I attached 6 snowflakes to each other to make a ring. To make more than one row of rings attach the top points of one ring to the bottom points of another ring. Clear as mud right? 

Put sticky strip on the 2 side points of the snowflake, attach it to the next snowflake then sprinkle glitter on the tips. The glitter will stick to the exposed area in the holes of the snowflake. After attaching 6 snowflakes to each other to make my  ring I put sticky strip around the top of the votive holder and stuck the snowflake ring in place before sprinkling on glitter.       

                                            

Sponged Snowflakes

I sponged a few spots of pink where I wanted my large snowflakes to go then stamped all the snowflakes in versamark and embossed with clear. Then I sponged with blue and saffron. This technique has some interesting potential. I can't wait to try it with some of my other stamp sets.

  I love these two colours together. The sentiment is stamped on red grosgrain ribbon. The snowflake is stamped on glossy white then embossed and sponged.

Pillow Box Santa

Here's my pillow box Santa using the pillow box and large scallop dies. I also used the large oval punches and the two smallest circle punches for the eyes and nose. The mustach is 2 of the pedals from the 5 pedal punch.
