This is my first attempt at a shaker card. It's difficult to see but there are clear micro beads in the letters . Since this is a scanned photo the beads aren't at the bottom. Shaker letters are easy to make with the Serif Essentials Alpha and the Big Shot.
1. Cover some craft foam on both sides with carpet tape and cut out letters.
2. Peal the backing and stick the letters down.
3. Pour in your beads.
4. Cut a piece of acetate large enough to cover the hole with the beads. Centre it on your letter and stick it down.
5. Cut another set of letters from cardstock or designer series paper and stick on top. Finish embellishing your card and you're done.
I had an idea to do this a couple of months ago, but the australian catalogue doesn't have the bigshot and i was trying to think of a way to get the dsp the perfect size and shape of the chipboard letters I was thinking of doing.
Glad to see my idea in action even if it turns out my idea wasn't an original lol
