Easy Trees

I've seen a lot of requests lately for easy Christmas tree patterns. One of my favorites is the origami trees pictured on page 161 in the Stampin' Up cataloque.  Here's a tutorial for an Origami Tree

Below are a couple more easy trees made with the pop up Tree die. For the first tree I used just the 2 largest pieces and tied on some elastic cord after stringing it with 1/2" circles. The other tree is made using the large tree shape from the die as a pattern. Trace 4 trees, fold them in half and glue them together.

  

Faux Snow

Here's a card I made using faux snow. You can make your own with scraps of white cardstock and a cheese grater. Here's a short tutorial. 

Packing Paper Pumpkins

 

 

I should be cleaning my craft room but I couldn't resist making a few cards. On the plus side, I finally found a use for the brown packing paper. I crumpled up a piece of packing paper and glued it to chipboard (front and back for the tag). I ran it through my big shot using the top note die then sponged on some soft suede ink.  

I used the Autumn Harvest stamp set. Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Dusty Durango.

 

Christmas Candles

Here's another card made with the table setting die. The candles are tags cut from Very Vanilla and Naturals Ivory. The candles are the small leaf cut from summer sun. Use the negative as a stencil to sponge on Real Red for flames. The card base is Real Red,  Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. I spritzed the finished card with Champagne Shimmer Paint (10 drops) mixed with (1 oz) rubbing alcohol. The shimmer paint spritz was Cherie Hunt's On Stage Wow presentation at the Ohio Regionals. This is one of the most impressive Wows I've seen. You have to try it if you haven't already. It looks amazing in real life.

 

Table Setting Gift Card Holder

This is my favorite projects so far made with Stampin' Up's new Table Setting die. Cut out the napkin ring, score it just below the bumps, fold, tie a ribbon around the whole thing and you have yourself a quick and easy gift card holder. I attached a gold cord to this one using the thingy?? from the die so my gift card could be hung in a tree. On the back I cut out an ivory tag and stamped a sentiment.

Girl's Dress

This was another card made with the table setting die.I folded the napkin ring in half to form the card. For the skirt I punched out 10 scallop ovals and attached them to the front and back so the card would stand up. The collar is made with the scallop circle and the 1" punch. On the inside I used the tag from the table setting die folded in half to hide the edges of the scallop ovals.

Halloween Candy Holder

Here's my first project using the table setting die. I used basic grey cardstock and ink. Score the napkin ring on either side of the centre bump to form the bottom . I taped a pkg of candy to the inside and used a black brad to hold the top together.

I had some time to play with Stampin' Up's new table setting die. Here are a few projects. I'll post the details when I get a chance.

Frosted Window

 This is one of those cards that looks better in real life. To make the frosted window. Stamp the child on glossy white cardstock and colour with Stampin' Write markers. Color the whole background bashful blue. After giving it a couple of minutes to dry apply white craft ink around the outter edges of the window.

Boo

Don't you just love when you make one little element then have to build a card to go with it. I made this little boys head (which my kids thought was creepy) but it took me a while to figure out what he should be looking at.

I used circle punches, scallop square and photo corners for the bat wings and the curly label punch for the boy's body. The stamped trees are from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set
