Singing Mouse

I made this poor little fella while on summer vacation and he's been living in a ziploc baggie ever since.  I thought it might be time for him to make it onto a card.

He's made from Stampin' Up punches. Head-wide oval,feet & mouth-small oval, tummy-large oval, nose and inner ears-1/4" circle, ears 1/2" circle, neck-word window, body-1 3/4" circle, hands-trio flower, teeth-double rectangle, tree-snowflake punch.

The tree trunk and mouse's legs are cut free hand. To make the book cut a piece of Real Red cardstock 1.5 x 2". Trim the top and bottom slightly to make a V shape.

To make the string of lights I cut the bulbs with the Tree Decorations sizzlit and poked holes around the tree trunk to string in silver cord. It doesn't show up in the photo but I added dazzling diamonds to the tree branches and snowdrifts then covered the light bulbs and the mouse's nose with crystal effects.

Medallion

This one looks better in person (honest). I was playing with the new Bride Specialty Paper but it doesn't show up in the photo. I embossed the medallion with black embossing powder. 

Shimmer Cartridges

I love the new shimmer paint SU sells. I put some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint in an uninked cartridge so I could use it with my wheels. To ink up the cartridge I poured a small amount of paint on the wheel and spread it out with the tip of my bone folder. I kept turning the wheel and repeating the process until the whole cartridge was inked.

I inked another cartridge with frost white to use with my snowflake wheel. That one is very pretty as well.

Since this is paint and not ink as soon as I'm finished stamping I store the cartridge in a plastic ziploc bag to keep it from drying out. If I get tired of my shimmer cartridges I plan to wash them out and reuse them.

Punch Art Elves

 I made this card for a SUDSOL sketch challenge. The elves are made from the ornament and 1-3/4" circle punches. The hands are the 1/2" circle punch. For the window I used the envelope die and the tree is made from the scallop circle punch.

Reinker Medallion

I've seen so many beautiful cards made with this stamp, I couldn't resist. I stamped the medallion with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I used the reinker technique to get the verigated colours around the outside. The centre of the medalion was coloured with markers then buffed off with a dry tissue. The colours I used were lavender lace, bashful blue and lovely lilac.  

Embossed Christmas Tree

To emboss the tree I used the Petals-A-Plenty textured embossing folder and Patti Bennet's  embossing folder technique. I cut a tree shape from dense cardboard and placed it under my folder when I ran it through my big shot so it only embossed  where I had the cardboard.  

Sweet Treats

  This was my first chance to play with my sweet treat cups. To make the gingerbread man I traced the shape from a cookie cutter. The card ended up being a little top heavy so I made some 3D cardstock gifts at the bottom of the card for support. Next time I'll fold my card at the top instead of the side.

 

My Little Piggy card was made with SU punches and some Designer Series Paper.
