To emboss the tree I used the Petals-A-Plenty textured embossing folder and Patti Bennet's embossing folder technique. I cut a tree shape from dense cardboard and placed it under my folder when I ran it through my big shot so it only embossed where I had the cardboard.

Yes,any shape will work. If you want more variety than just the texture plates you can also use the same idea with the texture plates and a mousepad.

So does that mean that I could take ANY cardboard shape, such as pre-cut chipboard in the shape of oh, animals, flowers, leaves, etc., put them in the center of my paper, and get the same result?
Ohhhh, the creative wheels of my mind are turning fast now!!!! Can't wait to try this one!
