Addicted to Stamping

Ooops

   I was going for clean and simple...I don't know what happened.

I embossed the Fine Flourish stamp with White ep and sponged it with Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. The mats are Night of Navy and Taken with Teal card stock.

I used the Pinking Hearts Border punch along the edges and backed it with vellum card stock to add more support. 

Cupcake Window

I couldn't wait to get my Cupcake die to see if this would work. And it did! Yipee!!!

I was a little disappointed when I got my first sizzlet. I didn't know how they worked and assumed you could cut out the image anywhere on your card stock (I don't do well with limitations). If you tried it, you know you get those nasty stretch marks in your card stock. The good news is.....the embossing folders do a nice job of hiding the stretch marks.

For this card I made a cupcake window in my card front and attached a crimped piece of Melon Mambo card stock from behind. On the back of the card front, I outlined the cupcake top with Tombow multi adhesive about a 1/4" from the edge then placed my scrap of fabric over the glue. I added some batting to the centre of the cupcake area and glued the card front to the base. I used a pin to pull on the fabric and allow it to puff a little more while the glue was still wet.  

Extreme Guitarist

I thought this made a neat background for the Extreme Guitar stamp.

I stamped the Wood Grain background stamp in versamark on glossy white paper and embossed with white embossing powder. I used my Bold Brights stampin' spots to pick up colour with an aqua painter and spread it on the background.

I stamped the guitar player in black on the background and didn't like how it looked so I stamped it again on black cardstock, embossed it with black embossing powder, cut it out and attached it over the first image with dimensionals.

The card base is tempting turquoise and the sentiment from Family Phrases is stamped on Real Red grograin ribbon with black stazon ink.

Sweet Treats Bonnet

 I wanted to make a bonnet card using the sweet treats cups. I stamped the 3" circle and treat cup with white stazon and the sanded background stamp.

The stamp set is Asian Artistry, I used Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink Craft ink then embossed with clear embossing powder. I sponged the edges with Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery then with Close to Cocoa.  

Bunny Card

This is a free-standing Bunny card complete with a fluffy tail. I got the idea from a customer (Irene). She hosted a workshop and made standing snowman place cards for all of her guests by cutting out 2 snowmen and glueing the heads together.

The front and back body pieces are sandwiched between two heads to make this card stand.

Carrot Box & One Page Tutorial

  This carrot box is an adaptation of the triangle box.  I used Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green card stock, Well Scripted stamp set, wide oval punch and the scallop square die.

Faux Rag Purse Box

I haven't had much time for sewing but love all the rag purses that are so popular right now. Here's my mini version made from Designer Series Paper, the Box #2 die and the scallop square punch.

The flower is made with the Boho Blossoms punch.

1. Punch 20 scalloped squares from DSP. Make folds at the first scallop. 8 of them need all 4 sides folded, 8 will be folded on 3 sides,  2 on 2 sides and 2 on 1 side.

2. Cut 2 handles 8.5" x 1/4" and glue to a Box #2 cut out as shown.

3. Put some glue on the back of each square and glue them to the box as shown. The end panels get the squares with 1 and 2 folds and the front and back panels get the squares with 3 and 4 folds as shown in the last photo.

4. Fold the box up

5. Open up the scallops and make slits in the scallops with scissors to make it look more raggy if desired.

Attack of the Butterflies

I'm determined to use up all of my treat cups. I was a little short on brown m&ms. I guess I shouldn't make cards like this before lunch. Scroll down for the punch art cheat sheet.

I changed my card up a little. I omitted the eye brows and arms and added a tail from the Two-Step Bird punch and legs with the small oval punch. 

I've had a lot of people ask me how I close my treat cups so I took a few pictures this time. Since I'll probably keep my cards as samples until the candy is too stale to eat I didn't want to waste a lot of time on the closure. I cut a hole for the cup, make an "x" with my cutting tool on a square of cardstock, fill the cup, stick it to the square, apply glue to the card stock and insert it through the back. Hoppy Together

This little guy was going to be another heart treat cup holder but he looked cuter on cardstock. I’ll post the treat cup version another time.
