Snow Page Day 5

 This is one of the scrapbook pages I entered in the 2011 Artisan Award contest. I forgot to take a photo of it until it was boxed up and on it's way out the door.

A lot of the features don't show very well in the photo. The letters have icecycle drips using crystal effects then sprinkles with dazzling diamonds. I covered the chipboard with Pink Pirrouette cs before cutting them out with the Big Shot. The ribbon is embossed with the tulip folder by sticking the ribbon to a scrap of card stock before embossing it. You can't see this in the photo at all but I covered the whole page with a big shot adhesive sheet, peeled the backing then cut a swirly decorative strip from the backing sheet. I placed the swirly die cut down the left side of the page then covered the remaining page with faux snow. After dusting off the excess snow I peeled off the swirl and sprinkled that area with dd. It looks very pretty in real life. I also added some snow flakes, pearls and clear bitty buttons. This way my favorite page but then I'm a sucker for pink.

Gnome Card Day #4

By the Sea Day 3

This is one of the scrapbook pages I made for the 2011 Artisan Award contest. This was my first chance to play with the baker's twine. It looped like that on its own so I just added my tags and left the loops where they were.

I made the ship in 3 separate pieces. I cut the neck of the bottle from a window sheet, sponged around the edges with White Stazon and attached it to the page with Big Shot Adhesive so it wouldn't show. The ship was stamped on white card stock and cut out around the top. For the bottle, I made a tube and rounded the edges with the corner rounder punch. The seam is hiding under the card stock. I left the top puffed up a little to give it a 3D effect.

Mirror Card Day 2

This was my favourite of my card entries for the Artisan Award contest. The top circle lifts up and the sentiment is stamped on the inside. The handle is made using the two tags die. I cut out a tag, angled it slightly, ran it through the big shot again then embossed it with a folder to disguise some of the imperfections.  The handle is attached to a circle which I scored along the top.  I attached the front of the mirror to the back above the score line so the card would open without leaving a mark on the front.

I'd like to make some of these for convention swaps if I have time.  They weren’t very difficult or time consuming since it’s all made with the big shot.

Artisan Award Entries Day 1

Stampin' Up posted the winners today for the 2011 Artisan Award which means us non-winners can start posting our projects. Congrats to all the Artisan Award winners and entrants. Can't wait to see your projects at convention!

Here's my first project....I've always like the Cobwebs poem so it was the theme for my picture frame. I removed the glass so my items could be 3D. I used the wide oval and corner rounder for the chair base. I trimmed the piece for the chair pads a bit smaller than the base and covered it with stuffing and some fabric. The legs were made by double punching with the curly label punch. To make the blocks I cut 2 strips of card stock and scored it the width of the strip. Happy Father's Day Dad!

My Dad had to make his own card this year. My parents and aunt have been helping me with my swaps for convention and my Dad usually does all the punching for me. I'd never be able to mass produce punch art cards without him. Doesn't he have the best daughter? "Here Dad, make yourself something nice"

I'm Going to Miss This Guy

It's my own fault. I've had him since SU first put out this stamp set but he's been collecting dust this past year. I just stated lovin' his little wagon too.

Bye Bye Bird House

I love this time of year when the new Stampin' Up catalogue comes out but it's also a little sad to see which of my favorite products will be retiring. I'm going to miss the photo corners punch that I used for the roof of my bird house. The house is the large tag punch and the circle and flowers are from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack. The leaves are from the two-step bird punch.
