I woke up this morning feeling awfully guilty (thanks Debbie and Ilsa). I haven't posted on my blog much in the last year and since I'm past most of the obstacles that have kept me from stamping it's time to dust off my long neglected supplies and get busy. Plus the preorder for the new Stampin' Up catty is right around the corner so I'll need a good excuse to buy more goodies.
When I first saw Stampin' Up's Rose Wonder stamp set I couldn't wait to try it with Crystal French's reinker spread technique. I'm going to use it for our Stamp-a-stack class in May so today I was playing with some samples.
For the rose I stamped the image in Versamark on Shimmery White Card Stock and embossed with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. I used Cherry Cobbler reinker for the rose. I wasn't happy with the results when I used the same technique on the leaves so I opted to stamp the image in Garden Green on Whisper White card stock and color it in using Garden Green ink and a blender pen.
This was kind of cool...I stamped the sentiment in black. Didn't like it. Didn't want to redo the whole card. Restamped the image with Versamark and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I didn't line up the stamp exactly so it left a bit of a shadow. This is something I'm going to have to play with a little more.
To finish off my card I stamped the grid from Timeless Textures in Versamark and embossed with gold ep. Once my rose was dry I cut it out and ran my Cherry Cobbler marker around the edge to hide the white of the card stock then glued the rose over the rose image on the background.
