I had a chance to play with some of my new goodies. I think one of my new favorite toys is going to be the envelope punch board. I made these gift card holders using the envelope punch board. When the card opens the gift card lifts out of the pocket. Scroll down for the video tutorial
If you've had a chance to look at the new Stampin' Up catalogue you'll notice a few samples of open ended envelopes like this one. They're very simple to make and you can follow this formula to make one any size you need. It's a great way to use up that retired DSP. Multiply the with of your card by 2 and add 1-1/2". This is how wide your DSP or card stock needs to be. For an envelope with 1" flaps measure the length of your card and add 2-1/4". This is how long your DSP or card stock needs to be. Score 1" across the top and bottom as well as 1/8" on each side of the card. If this is as clear as mud I've included a video tutorial.
I had to remove my video until the catalogue went live May 31st so now I can post it again.Yay!
I think this Simply Pressed Clay is going to be one of my favorite new products from the upcoming Stampin' Up catalogue. The simply pressed clay is lightweight and flexible. You can color it with reinkers, markers or paint them using an aqua painter. You can even emboss it. How cool is that? I put together a video of some of the flowers I made so far.
Need some arrows for those last minute Valentines? Use your Extra Large Tag Punch to make arrows from your 1/2" strips of scrap paper. Use the edge of the punch for the shaft and the corner of the punch for the point and tail. If you need a visual scroll down for the 2 minute video.
Donna Griffith showed us how to make these adorable envelopes using the Diagonal Score Plate and Designer Series Paper. I tried several different sizes and thought I'd put them all in a document for easy reference. I have the measurements for 28 different size envelopes that you can download here Download Diagonal Score Plate Envelopes.
If you watched Donna's demonstration you know how easy these are to make. I've put together a video showing how to make a few different size envelopes including the open end style for long cards.
This would be a great card for a Fun Folds class. It's made using the Diagonal Score Plate and some punches. The card base is 11" x 3-3/4" and the fold is scored at 1-7/8". The roof is a 3" square cut in half on the diagonal. If you'd like more details scroll down for the video tutorial
Here's a project using the new Simply Scored Diagonal Scoring Plate (shown in my last post). I won a diagonal scoring plate at leadership so I've had a little bit of time to play with it. I'm hoping to have time to post a few more projects this week. Here's an Envelope Style Card Box I made using the Diagonal Score Plate.
Demonstrators can preorder the new Diagonal Plate for the Simply Scored Scoring Tool starting today. If you're not a Stampin' Up demonstrator you can order yours on March 1st. I won the diagonal scoring plate at leadership so I've had some time to play with it. I'll be posting some projects this week but for now check it out on this Stampin' Up video.....
FYI I've had a few people ask if the diagonal score plate will work with other scoring tools. I tried it on my old scor-pal and it doesn't fit. The plate is 12-1/2" square and the scor-pal is 12x12 with a lip on 3 sides. It looks like it might work with the Martha Stewart Scoring Tool but I can't confirm that.
I was inspired by a cool new stamping tool that just came on the market called Stamping Gear. It's a guide that allows you to stamp shapes around an evenly spaced circle. While I don't have a lot of use for large stamped wreaths, I thought the concept was really neat. I used some of my Big Shot dies to make some of my own guides from fun foam. The first photo shows guides for stamping in a straight line. I stuck 5 layers of foam together with Big Shot adhesive then cut it out with the Tasteful Trim die. Each one of the trim pieces gives a different spacing.
I used the Flower Folds die to make a guide for stamping in a circular shape (shown in the photo below). If you want your stamped images closer try using one of the scalloped circles to make a guide.
Well I'm off to play. I'll make some samples to post. See the video below if you need more details.
